Torbay School Report

Torbay School is located on Deep Creek Road, Torbay. Overlooking Rangitoto and is about a 5 minute promenade from Waiake Beach. Torbay is a Primary School that teaches years 0 to year 6 and has a variety of learning skills.

Torbay School provides an abundance of activities to take part in such as being a Student leader which means to take leadership of the school and improving and suggesting ideas for the school. Then the school also have mediation which is a bit like duty teachers walking around the school but just students. Road patrol is one of the most important jobs of them all. The Road patrol takes two students in the morning or after school to make a safer walking area. Then the school provides other activities such as radio station, Triple TV, Flip crew and much more opportunities. Then we have Kapa Haka, Pacifica which represent the cultures in New Zealand.

BYOD (bring your own device) is a big part of Torbay School. We use our devices for Emails, site creating, blogging, researching information and Google Docs which is similar to microsoft office but ran by School apps.  Google docs is a system which allows you to use Drawing , documents, Presentation and Powtoon (  An animation creator).

This School is situated with a multiple of structural ideas including the Playgrounds located near the junior classrooms and the senior playground near the school fields. The latest school project was to build an outdoor stage which was a total success. Then the project for 2014 is to build exercise facilities around the back of the bottom field.

Overall Torbay is a must for learning. The school is highly recommended for pupils  to join and learn to be a great leader and leave with confidence.
